Coltzilla Forum Returns

I have added forums to Coltzilla in an effort to provide those who frequent the site an opportunity to socialize and discuss the Colts outside of the parameters of posted stories. In my time writing about the Colts and as an active member of the Colts blogging community I have found that there are positive aspects to many different approaches.
One of the approaches which is novel and I think enjoyable for those who visit is the ability to post directly in response to stories as they are submitted on the front page of the website. Guided conversations, feedback, and providing opinions on the topics each story discusses allows readers here to get involved, start healthy debate on issues, and come up with new ideas regarding the future of the Colts and possible stories.

Rohan Bhasin has joined the Coltzilla team and will be covering fantasy sports. The Fantasy Villa page will be a work in progress as we try to figure out the best way to post and organize our fantasy football content to the maximum benefit of our readers. We hope that fans interested in fantasy football news and analysis will take advantage of this new feature to our site and actively discuss their fantasy football questions and topics with Rohan. Thank you for your continued support and visits.
Coltzilla Open Thread Test

I am making some changes to the Coltzilla commenting system to try and find a system that functions similarly to the one SB Nation has developed. Hopefully some folks will be willing to randomly discuss things in this thread and get an idea how the auto-updating feature works. Your feedback is appreciated and if the current software fails, I will try something new and notify you all at that time.
Thanks!

Hello, fellow readers and posters. My name is Robert Itoh and I just recently received an opportunity to write my thoughts and opinions about the Indianapolis Colts by the head writer of this fine site, Brett Mock. Though I may seem new to the block, several of you may remember by my pseudonyms, metal_militia at Stampede Blue and Robert I. at 18to88.
While here, I plan on providing the same content that has given me the recognition to ascend to where I am today. That means series like “Five Things I Think I Know” will be a fixture here on Coltzilla. I will also try to provide as much original content and analysis as I can regarding the latest news surrounding the Colts and break down the players and games as training camp and the season get started.
My hope is to help Brett make this site one of the most insightful and comprehensive sources for Colts content on the net, joining the ranks of Stampede Blue and 18to88 as one of the first places Colts fans come for their football fix.
I can’t wait to get started! GO COLTS!

Another part of a healthy blogging environment, I think, is that people who become a part of blogs enjoy the community aspect of making friends and talking about things, Colts-related or otherwise, that are not guided by the confines of stories that writers post on the front page, or that some of the readers submit for posting on the front page. Instead, having a place to put together tailgating, talk about recent NFL news that the finite number of stories on the front page cover, and generally just toss ideas and debate about a variety of other topics is enjoyable.
Threaded commenting systems allow this to a degree, and even opening up front page threads that are “open” is nice but forums allow those live discussions to continue and evolve beyond the time they move off of the front page and outside of easy view of the rest of the community.
Still, building a forum community is a slow process and I hope that some of you who visit will take the time to start posting ideas, links to stories, and thoughts about the Colts. The community will come together over time and I am excited to be a part of its evolution. I imagine numerous story ideas for the front page will come from these discussions so this will be a great place for viewers to drive the direction of the site and help Coltzilla evolve to offer the material, the work product, that each of you look for most.
Stop in, register, and visit regularly while the forum grows!
Thanks!
Welcome to Coltzilla!
May 3rd
For some time now I have been encouraged by Colts bloggers, blog contributors, and readers to start a website devoted to espousing my thoughts and insights regarding the Indianapolis Colts. While I keep a busy schedule, I thought it was time to heed the advice and set up my own spot on the internet to write about my favorite team without stepping on toes or without worrying about the constraints of another website’s theme, vision, or formatting concerns.
It is my hope that Coltzilla will develop into one of the most active and insightful locations on the internet for Colts fans to discuss their favorite team, consider a wide range of opinions about the current state and future of our favorite franchise, and possibly learn more about football and the NFL than they could have otherwise imagined.
I plan to do this without failing to understand or appreciate the contributions of so many others, and hope that Coltzilla will become the first place fans look to find news and analysis by linking to multiple sources of insight outside my own. Over time, should this blog achieve a popular and sizable following, I will consider adding other writers and contributors to keep content fresh.
I hope you will join in supporting my efforts by visiting the site regularly, adding your comments and observations, and e-mailing me any suggestions you might have for the site. I am not the most experienced web editor, nor a graphically gifted person, so any insights or contributions in that area would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to visit Coltzilla and I look forward to getting up new content soon!
