Cowboys v. Colts, and Things of that Nature (Week 13 Game Preview)

The Colts are in no position to lose a third straight game. At some point, Indianapolis cannot rely on losses by their AFC South opponents to stay in the mix for a division championship and playoff berth.
With players like Mike Hart, Justin Tryon, Brody Eldridge, and possibly Gary Brackett set to return, injuries will play a smaller role in a game against a weaker opponent than the San Diego Chargers, New England Patriots, or Philadelphia Eagles. Additionally, three out of the Colts last four games are division games. It is time for Indianapolis to find some consistency and it would be best for the beginning of that consistency to start at home against Dallas. More >
Game Stats: Chargers v. Colts

The Colts offensive struggles have doomed the team the past two weeks — as poor decisions and poor timing stifled a last minute come from behind victory against New England, and handed the Chargers 20 points. While the team won’t make excuses, fans should realize that Manning’s limited options at wide receiver, running back, and tight end have ruined Indy’s offensive cohesion. Add poor performances from both offensive tackles, and the situation gets even worse.
While there were numerous things for fans to complain about, there were also enough positive signs to make one hopeful. The biggest was the fact that despite common perception, Jeff Linkenbach has actually been an improvement over Mike Pollak at right guard (albeit a modest one). Receivers Blair White and Jacob Tamme are becoming very stable for Manning, showing both good timing and hands. The Colts also found a use for Donald Brown. He may not function as a pass blocker, or have the vision to effectively run through a gap, but he showed an edge on quick slant routes that gives him a tangible positive.
Let’s move on to the stats. More >
Friday Injury Report: Cowboys v. Colts

Mixed bag today. We will probably need to go off “gut feel” in terms of some of the players. My “gut” is that Brackett will go, but be limited; Collie will not go; Eldridge should be a go; and Mike Hart, who didn’t practice today, should be a go (probably getting treatment today and resting up that ankle).
I assume Francisco, Mathews, Muir, Tryon and Wayne will play.

DIRECTV is holding a pretty cool contest we thought Colts fans would be interested in hearing about. It has become clear to us that we have a number of out-of-staters who visit the blog regularly and that among them may be someone dedicated and creative enough to take advantage of this opportunity.
While you should visit the above link to learn all of the details of the Ultimate Displaced Fan contest, the idea is that you put together a video or pictures, or collection of different media to display that you are the ultimate displaced Colts fan. Other fans for the other teams around the league will also be staking their claims — and as Peyton says in the video, who wants another Steelers fan to get free tickets to the Super Bowl?
If you do enter, we would very much appreciate you letting Coltzilla know. We would be happy to put together a story displaying the contents of your submissions. We wish you the best of luck.
