The Indianapolis Colts are known as one of the classiest organizations in the NFL.  When players like Jacob Tamme put together a charitable golfing event to support wounded soldiers who return home after serving their country, it is no surprise.

Alan Cutler of Lex18.com covered the Swings for Soldiers Golf Classic, which builds adapted homes for injured soldiers returning to the States.  Tamme explains it best after the jump.

Allison and I knew we wanted to do something for our military, for our veterans who have given so much to us.

I just feel strongly that the people that give their time, their energy, their body. Home for Our Troops is who we are donating this money to. They build specially adapted homes for our soldiers who have been wounded overseas.

It means a lot for someone to come home and be picked up and lifted up, to have people say we appreciate everything that you’ve done.
