This entry is part 4 of 14 in the series Indy Sports Coverage

Each week, Coltzilla brings you highlights from local sports coverage of the Colts with an emphasis on player interviews. Pre-game interviews go up Sunday mornings. Post-game interviews are posted shortly after the game. Hope you enjoy!

It’s Week 4 of the 2010 season, and the 2-1 Colts visit Jacksonville to take on the 1-2 Jaguars.

UPDATED – 10/4/2010

So, the players listed ‘containing Maurice Jones-Drew’ and ‘playing hard for 60 minutes’ as major goals in Week 4. How’d they do?

Post-Game:
In these post-game interviews, Colts Coach Jim Caldwell, Joe Addai, Reggie Wayne, Clint Session, Dwight Freeney, Peyton Manning, Antoine Bethea, Dallas Clark, Jerraud Powers, Dan Muir, and Kelvin Hayden discuss the Colts’ loss to Jacksonville in Week 4.

More interviews after the jump!

OK, so we saw their pre-game analysis of what it would take to leave Florida with a win. How’d they do? Yeah, I thought so.

While the loss shouldn’t entirely be blamed on the defense, it’s true that run stuffing was pretty much non-existent on Sunday. The fact that the Colts claimed that stopping Maurice Jones-Drew was a #1 priority had me relatively comfortable that they’d… you know… stop him.

Not so much.

And remember all those pre-season fantasies of Brody Eldridge becoming a major contributor in the passing game? How’d that go on Sunday? Yep… it’s still a fantasy. I’m pleased the kid is helping with run blocking… very pleased, actually. But if he hauls in that Manning pass at the Jag’s three yard line, we might be celebrating a win today.

There is one thing in these interviews I find encouraging; these players genuinely care. You can hear it in their voices and see it on their faces. And they seem to realize they’re not playing up to their capabilities. We fans can see it; it’s pretty obvious to us. But this team has won so often, for so long, I wondered if they could truly look at their play objectively and admit they didn’t leave it all on the field. “Prepare, execute, and grind for 60 minutes”? They seem to understand they didn’t do it. Let’s see what they do this week to fix it.

Bonus…
Here’s the latest promo for WISH-TV8′s Colts coverage. Pretty entertaining, actually.

Pre-Game:
In these pre-game interviews, Coach Jim Caldwell, Dan Muir, Dallas Clark, Peyton Manning, Dwight Freeney, and other Colts players discuss what it will take to succeed in today’s contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars. To paraphrase:

  1. Prepare, execute, grind for 60 minutes
  2. Attack, contain, tackle Maurice Jones-Drew

We’ll know later today if they’re up to the task.

Also, Blair White talks about being called up from the practice squad, overcoming nerves, and assuring Peyton Manning he’ll get open.

Check back later for post-game interviews.
