Why the Colts have Struggled in 2010
Dec 12th
Colts fans have watched in horror as a team that entered the season as one of the most talented groups Indianapolis has put together in quarterback Peyton Manning’s career has fallen into mediocrity and failed to continue an NFL record streak of consecutive 12-win seasons. Many expected the stretch of games against the Eagles, Patriots, Chargers, and Cowboys would be difficult, but dropping all four games is not something Colts teams have done in the past.
This uncharacteristic run of losses has understandably caused Colts fans to panic. The blame game is in full force, and fans are scrambling to find answers to resolve the issues in Indianapolis before the 2011 season begins. More >
Bengals v. Colts, And Things of that Nature (Week 10 Game Preview)
Nov 13th

The Battle for I-74 will take place on Sunday as the Indianapolis Colts (5-3) take on the Cincinnati Bengals (2-6). The Colts will need a win to keep pace in both the tightly packed AFC South standings and the race for the number one seed in the AFC. The team standing in the way of a Colts victory on Sunday will not be an average, ordinary football team — they have a secret. A secret identity, that is.
Not content with only being able to wear tights during the day, the Bengals set out on a mission to find a nighttime gig that afforded them the opportunity to experience their comfort and masculinity 24 hours a day. So, led by the obnoxious diva-turned-crime-fighters duo of Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and Terrell Owens, the Bengals entered the world of superheroes. More >

Colts Tight End Dallas Clark Out Indefinitely UPDATE 10/21
Oct 20th

Colts tight end Dallas Clark stepped out of the Washington game temporarily after he was targeted by Manning across the middle with Redskins safety LaRon Landry in coverage. He was visibly experiencing a little pain and was grabbing his wrist or hand. He managed to return to the game but that Jim Caldwell has confirmed that Clark is having the hand evaluated.
It is worth mentioning that a rumor mill has started to spin out of control that Dallas Clark will miss the remainder of the season due to his injury. No credible source, no official confirmation, of any kind supports this rumor. The John Oehser tweet above already indicates that Jim Caldwell gave no sign that the injury was season-ending. that nothing in the Colts locker room supports the rumor. If readers have read the rumor elsewhere, be it on Twitter or other sports blogs, relax until something official is reported.
As Coltzilla reported earlier, Addai underwent a similar evaluation (which is normal in these circumstances) and now looks more likely to return sooner than folks may have originally thought. We will update you with anything official on Clark as we learn it. For now, the fact that he returned to the game should be considered a positive sign.
UPDATE:
reports that Dallas Clark is out indefinitely with a hand/wrist injury. Clark will get second and third opinions before he makes any decision on how long he will be out.
tweets that the injury is a sprain and that Clark will be visiting doctors to determine if surgery is necessary.
UPDATE 10/21:
tweets “Bill Polian, speaking in FW, says Dallas Clark’s wrist injury is “not a common one” and will know more later today.” Note: Bill Polian is in Fort Wayne, IN today as a keynote speaker with ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen at a “Taking your Business to the Next Profitable Level” forum.

Quick Thoughts: Colts 27, Redskins 24
Oct 18th

The Colts limped into Sunday night’s match-up against the Washington Redskins needing a win to keep pace with the Houston Texans in the AFC South. They were able to overcome numerous turnovers and Father Time’s persistence to get that win, and now enter the much needed bye week at 4-2.
The Colts should have won the game with a little more ease. Four fumbles (three lost), two missed field goals, and a slew of missed tackles that brought back memories of 2006, gave the Redskins an opportunity to win the game at the end. On top of their miscues, the Colts lost Joseph Addai, Dallas Clark, and Pierre Garçon to injuries. After the jump I’ll give my quick thoughts on the win… More >

UPDATED with Post-Game Interviews
Post-Game:
Colts win with good defense on a day the offense couldn’t seem to find its rhythm. In pre-game interviews, the Colts listed stopping the run, limiting big plays, and eliminating mental mistakes as key to a victory. How’d they do?
Remember the onside kick in the SB? Apparently, Tyjuan Hagler doesn’t. That’s him backpedalling prior to the kick while rookies Blair White and Pat Angerer hold their ground. Oh! Nice shoes, Pat.
