Friday Injury Report: Titans v. Colts
Dec 31st
A couple of surprises in today’s report – Clint Session participated on only a limited basis, and Jeff Saturday entered the report for the first time in several weeks with what appears to be an injury suffered in practice.
Given that Session went full on Wednesday and Thursday, I wouldn’t be surprised that Friday was limited so he could get some treatment and be ready to play (if not start) on Sunday. I also expect Johnson and Saturday to play, perhaps more because the Colts need them for their consistency than because I know anything specific about their injuries.
Mike Hart looks poised to be available for the first time in several games, and the Colts could have a very rare 5-headed monster in the backfield, with Addai, Rhodes, Brown, Hart and James all looking healthy.
I don’t expect we will see Al Afalava or Kelvin Hayden, I think Jamie Thomas is a toss-up, and I am leaning toward Dan Muir being available if not starting.

Today’s injury report is encouraging for Mike Hart and Clint Session, but not for Kelvin Hayden. Despite Irsay’s tweet yesterday to not read too much into the injury report, the fact that Hayden hasn’t even practiced in a limited capacity this week speaks to his likely status (of OUT) for Sunday’s game.

Today’s injury report is not nearly as long as other weeks’ reports… in part due to the fact that most guys who aren’t available are already on IR. The other factor, of course, is that the Colts are now at the point of win-or-go-home. Players are going to be practicing if they can.
The best news on this report is that Clint Session is back full today. In an earlier press conference, he indicated that he had made a big jump in terms of his health.

The Indianapolis Colts took one step closer to the playoffs with a win in Oakland. The scoreboard does not accurately represent the difference between the talent level of the two teams who took the field on Sunday, as the Colts defense stifled Oakland’s offense and the Colts offense moved the ball easily for much of the game.
If not for a special teams touchdown to start the game, a play Colts fans are far too familiar with, the score would have gotten out of hand very early. Still, blow outs are not necessary to finish Indy’s task for a late-season push for the playoffs and leaves them still in the driver’s seat to put away a struggling Titans team at home to finish the job. Post-Game Coverage:
The Colts defense had possibly its best game of the season sacking Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell 3 times and holding running back Darren McFadden to 45 total yards. On the offensive side, Peyton Manning threw three touchdown passes to three different receivers and Colts running backs tallied a season-high 191 rushing yards. In pre-game interviews, the Colts listed stopping the run, running to set up the pass, and containing the Oakland return game as keys to beating the Raiders. How’d they do? More >

Friday Injury Report: Colts v. Raiders
Dec 24th
At the risk of some cruel jinx, I’ll point out that for the second straight week, the Colts get back a player who is a difference-maker on offense. Unfortunately last week, Collie’s return was short-lived, and I will be holding my breath this week as Joseph Addai takes his first real hit in 10 weeks. Stampede Blue’s nopuntintended suggested that the Colts may use Addai differently in an effort to keep him out of harm’s way (to the extent that that is possible in the NFL). I had wondered something similar, perhaps put in against the Raiders?
