O-Line is horrible, the run game is a joke, so we pass on every freaking down with them knowing it, and Peyton has gotten owned..

It's two-fold. Manning can't run the ball; there has to be some shared blame..

I agree that it's more than just Manning. But those picks were not because he was getting hit. Do we agree on that?.

You can't even begin to blame this one on the o-line. Manning had a number of plays with 3 to 5 seconds to throw. He just didn't throw well, and every single pick was his not reading the coverage and staring down receivers. The only guy who seriously couldn't get positive yards running was Brown. Hart and James Both got positive yards rushing..

Even the positive yards were not good blocking on the ground. So I think the offensive line has some responsibility for not making it possible to be balanced for much of the game. We can only run when the defense lines up to stop Manning from killing them with the passing game..

Absolutely we agree..

Hart averaged 1.6, boy, he that's really great. James was the best, with a still mediocre 3 a run, Brown averaged 1 a run.

NO DEFENSE has to take our run seriously at all. They can focus 100% on confusing Manning, and that is EXACTLY what we have done.

As long as we have no running game, we aren't going ANYWHERE. And that is a FACT.

If we had a running game that was consistent at all Manning wouldn't have been trying to throw his way to everything in OT..

And therein lies the truth..

No, it wasn't great blocking but it was the same blocking Brown was getting. Brown getting stuffed on 50% of his runs compared to 25% for everyone else isn't because magically the offensive line decided they didn't like brown and weren't going to block, Brown just doesn't drive to get to the line and hit small holes.

Besides, we don't need 4.5 ypc, all we need is a consistent positive 2 or 3 yards. We haven't been getting that with Brown.

Also... Wayne's drop cost us the game to a high degree..

After such a good run with him he goes and contracts garconitis.....

1.6 a carry. 1 point fucking 6. That is HORRIBLE. Sure, it's better than Brown, but 1.6 over 1.0 is going from terrible to fucking terrible. Either way, still terrible..

When Manning is forced to throw 45 or more passes, in his career, including playoffs, the Colts are 7-24. As long as we have no run game and keep throwing 45+ times a game, we are going absolutely fucking nowhere.

Getting Addai back will help a lot, but even he can only do so much when we have the worst run blocking line in football.

It doesn't help we are down 10-17 points in the first 5 minutes of every game.... Its hard to rely upon the run when we are forcing ourselves to score 35 points a game, not including the 14 or so we give up to the opponents offensively. And thats admitting our Defense is about normal..

If we had an effective running game, we wouldn't be seeing so many pick sixes, because we could actually attack a defense since they would have to worry about a running game..

No one is saying we have to run for 150 yards a game, but when the opponent knows that we aren't getting more than 2 a run on a good game, they don't have to worry about it at all. All they have to do is play the pass, and once a team is one-dimensional, they are beatable.

You don't have to run to win football games, but you have to be *able* to run to win football games..

In the second half and over time the Colts defense allowed a total of 150 yards of offense and 13 points... 7 of which came after a successful goal line stand, and nearly another..

The Cowboys scored 20 points off of turnovers... two field goals and two pick sixes..

And that is four offensive chances to score points lost to turnovers. The swings on turnovers are potentially massive. If we score on half of the lost turnovers you have at minimum a six point score change, a win in regulation, and potentially a 12 plus point swing just being conservative on the FG drives for the Cowboys only. This defense is built to play with a lead, and we simply aren't leading games..

Run defense needs to improve but it is really difficult to put this on the defense for me. Run defense... HORRID. Embarassing. But... easily playing good enough to win..

I can't figure out why everyone talking about P breaking the attempts record thinks it's a good thing. .
